Hyperscalers already use robots on the floor. We are bringing that to all data centers.

01 / The labor problemTwo-thirds can’t find the people.
Nearly two-thirds of data center operators say they have trouble finding or keeping staff.1 Roughly 400,000 skilled-trade jobs sit unfilled in the U.S.2 while the four largest hyperscalers spent a record $388 billion on capital expenditure in 2025, most of it data centers, and plan more than $600 billion for 2026.3 Meanwhile GPU sites keep going up in places with no technicians nearby, and human error still sits behind roughly two-thirds to four-fifths of outages.4
02 / What failures look likeThe fix is minutes. The wait is hours.
Training Llama 3 on 16,000 H100s, Meta logged 419 unexpected interruptions in 54 days. 78% were hardware, 58.7% GPU-related. That’s one every three hours.5 The fix is usually minutes: reseat, swap, power-cycle. The wait is not. Equinix’s own Smart Hands turnaround is 36 clock hours at 24/7 sites and 4.5 business days elsewhere.6 Send the board back to the vendor and it’s days to weeks. A GB200 NVL72 rack rents for about $756 an hour on CoreWeave, 72 GPUs at $10.50 each.7 Every hour it sits dark is real money.

| The fix itself | about 15 min |

| Remote hands, other sites | 4.5 business days |
| Board back to the vendor | days to weeks |
Remote-hands times are Equinix’s published Smart Hands turnaround objectives. Vendor return shown at two weeks.
03 / Who already automated itThe big players are already doing it.
Meta is testing robots in its data centers that can swap cables, reset servers, and take on other tasks its technicians do today. According to WIRED, a working cable-swapping system could take up to 80% of the workload in some roles.8 Microsoft Research published “self-maintaining networked systems” and showed a robot reseating optical transceivers on its own.9 AWS uses Molg’s robots to disassemble decommissioned hardware at its reverse-logistics facility.10 NTT Data trialed ugo robots at Shinagawa in 2022, then rolled them out across 15 data centers, replacing one to two hours of inspection work a day per site.11
04 / What Nines is doingWe bring this to everyone.
Nines brings autonomous infrastructure to every data center, not just the ones with a robotics group. We partner with leading robotics hardware makers and fit the solution to your site: a full hall or a single row, a standard rack or your own form factor. Tell us what your floor looks like and we’ll build for it.
05 / Where this goesBeyond land.
Large sites get the repetitive labor off their technicians. Remote sites get maintained with nobody on the floor. And it doesn’t stop at land. If you’re building data centers underwater, offshore, on floating platforms, or in space, reach out to us as well.
